Well, the mild weather is gone. So how does it affect you?

I try to stay out of it as much as possible. I used to be such an outdoor person when I lived in CT. I never was a "water", person. So that doesn't leave much outdoor activities here in FL during the oppressive months.

Obesity - Climate Amenity and BMI[ast] <--Interesting read about climate and how it could relate to time outdoors and obesity.

But, there is light at the end of the tunnel for me. 10 months and I will FINALLY be going back to civilization!

Although I like everything here, the heat for so long is what bugs me. It would be ok if only lasted 3 months, but it starts May until October. (at least)

I love Florida. But its time to either be outside in the pool, or inside with the AC!

It didn't bother me...I spent the day on the beach! The water was nice and cool.

^^^ LOL, here in Central FL, we average 109 days per year of over 90 degree temps. That to me, is a big attention grabber! That's TOO much.

I grew up in FL but moved to PA less than 3 years ago and now feel same the way you do. Anything above 85 is too hot. After some time away, I look back at some of the things I miss in FL, then look at the weather report and see 95 degrees and any homesickness is instantly gone! lol

Gosh, when did I miss the memo that Florida just got hot in the last few years? I had thought Florida was hot since the area was discovered in 1513?!

I really do not understand people living here and not knowing about the heat. It's like people moving to Chicago and then complaining about the cold. It really doesn't make much sense. Even those that were "raised" here and complain...why didn't you move? Why would you stay somewhere where you are uncomfortable 80% of the year?
