I'm a young 50 something black female, recent empty nester, ready to get my groove back. LOL. I am thinking about moving to Orlando, or another part of Florida. Does anyone have any thoughts about Orlando for me or any suggestions about another city. Not looking to bar hop but would like to meet new people.

I guess it depends on whether you're going to be job hunting. There are fun and safe areas in Orlando, but the economy is affecting employment opportunities.

Yes, I will be job hunting, but probably will be teaching. Just wanted an idea about what county would be nice to live in.

Just an FYI, there are no teaching jobs here. None. Some of the schools have been laying off teachers. Be sure to do your homework and get a contract before committing to a move.

As far as a county to live in, Seminole, Lake, and parts of Orange have the best schools and most will agree, best quality of life. But you'll want to live near where you are teaching, so that's the first mission.

Well actually, my move won't be until next year, so hopefully the teaching jobs will pick up then. Thanks for all the info everyone.
