I'm looking at buying a condo in or around the Orlando area. I will be having my brother and my two teenage nephews relocate from Massachusetts to Florida and they will be living in this condo.

I have searched the internet for weeks now, looked at tons of places on line but I don't know enough about the area to know what's good, what parts I should stay away from and what towns are around Orlando but still close enough to commute if that's where the work ends up being.

I'm hoping someone can put some streets, condo communities or area's around the towns or decent schools so I can narrow it down.
Or if that's not possible - please tell me what to avoid at all costs if that's easier.

I see quite a few that say gated communities and they look very nice on line - should this make me feel better that they are gated or will this not necessarily put me in a decent part of town?

I am doing all of this from Mass and will be making a trip to Florida to see some places once I narrow it down.

I'm very concerned about putting my teenage nephews in an area that they shouldn't be growing up in and realtors that I have spoken to say they cannot give me information or opinion on the area's where the homes are located - very frustrating.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated !!!!!!!

Default Orlando Insight

Having recently relocated from NYC myself in September I can appreciate your frustration. At some point on-line information can be a bit deceptive as I've come to discover on my own. If you are still in need of assitance I would be happy to help. FYI... some of the nicer areas can be find in the following zip codes (32828-Avalon Park area, 32801-downtown Orlando area, 32792- Winter Park area). Hope this helps!

Did you interact with an agent that understands relocation?

Real Estate Agents hands are tied by State and Federal laws and Government Test Buyers are floating around trying to catch us. But if you ask a series of questions they should be able to send homes that fit there criteria.

Another area I also would look in the newer area Horizon West, A rated schools.
