My husband and I will be moving from Murfreesboro, TN to the Orlando area within the next couple of months. We place great priority on finding a church home once we get to the area.

Our current church is technically Baptist, but the pastor openly admits he considers himself more non-denominational, so we're open to either. It's very contemporary and laid back - a place where you can dress up or wear jeans and it doesn't really matter. It's about 2700 members and very active within the community. It's also growing like crazy. We realize we aren't going to find an exact replica of our current church, but we do want a church that is growing, involved in the community, and has a good amount of young couples (20s - 30s). We also realize that making a checklist is somewhat pointless as God is going to lead us where he wants us.

All that being said, if you know of a great church, we'd love to hear about it and give it a try.

There are two in Clermont that you might want to look at.

Real Life

Celebratiion of Praise

I don't attend either, but know people that attend both. I think Real Life will overall ahve more people in the age group you are seeking, but I don't know this for sure.

I go to First Baptist of Orlando. It believe it has about 15,000 members, so it may be overwhelming for some (as a similar size church I attended in Melbourne), but if you get involved in a Sunday School class, you will be able to meet people and it won't be so overwhelming. There is a traditional service and a contemporary service. As far as dress is concerned, you have people who dress up and people who were casual clothes.

If you're in the north Orlando area, I'd love to invite you to check out Community United Methodist Church in Casselberry. Two Sunday morning worship services - 8:30 & 11:00. Don't let the UMC name - or preconceived ideas throw you. When you enter the sanctuary you'll see a choir, praise team (vocals), and a 14 piece band....and be enveloped in worship that inlcudes some of the great hymns of the faith as well as music from Hillsongs, Lakewood, Chris Tomblin, MW Smith, and many others.... You're always welcome!

Oviedo First Baptist sounds similar to where you are going now - we tried there, but it was just a littel to big for us and we are traditionally Episcopal, so it didn't really meet our religious needs but we have friends who attend there, and they are VERY active in the community! I would highly recommend it!
First Baptist Oviedo | Home

For something smaller, more traditional, we are actually attending Church of the Incarnation Epicopal currently meeting at Reformation Seminary. We found that more in line with our beliefs (and in allowing women in positions of government and guidance as well) as well as the tradition of weekly Eucharist, so we really like it there....

an ancient faith for a modern world (http://www.incarnationoviedo.com/site/_home.html - broken link)

I have to say though that the folks at both were really great and welcoming! both are on the north and eastern side of Orlando, so depends on where you actually land! Best of luck to you!

Glad you like it! Several of my friends and neighbors worship there and are very, very happy with it.
