I'm a newbie on here and was wondering if i could get a bit of help and information from you guys.

My husband and i are wanting to move to Florida from the UK and were wondering if anyone could provide us with some information on areas in Florida that have low crime figures and have good communities that would be good for us to look at moving to.

I have been looking on the net to try and find info out about areas such as Davenport, Kissimmee, Clermont, Tampa, St Petersburgh etc but can't really find a great deal out and when i do it's all old figures and information that usually only goes up to 2004 and not the present year.

What is going to be your situation? Do you have kids? Will you be working? What type of place will you be looking for?

Hi, We moved over here 6years ago on a E2 visa. Loving the life here. We have helped lots of people move across, telling them best places to move to, best stores to shop out, what to look out for etc. If you need any advice just email me. Kissimmee and Davenport are full of tourist, we used to live down there but you get sick of it. There are some really crazy deals out there on houses right now. for 100k you could practically buy a mansion. How are you guys moving across here? Visa or sponsership?

Thanks for that i'll take a look at that .
No we don't have kids, we obviously want to move over with a job in place. Just a little unsure at the minute which is going to be the best way to go about all of this.

Even without kids, I would still look into the school districts as well....1) because you may want kids in the future (maybe not...i don't know your situation) and 2) Affects the price of your home later (in as much as the saleability - you would have a larger market if you were in a good school district because folks that DO have kids looking for a good district would look at your home as a possiblity when you are selling)

Just my two cents

First things first.

What type of visa are you applying for?

I wouldn't even bother asking about areas until you know if you are even eligible for a visa.
