Lake Eola Heights has a number of rentals in your price range from private homeowners. Finding them requires a slow drive up and down the streets. Try Thornton Park close to Summerlin. Lots of private rentals there as well. This will put you in walking distance of clubs, shopping, and restaurants.

Can't think of any complexes in that range, unless you mean each one of you would pay that amount. If that's the case, it's wide open for you. I hesitate to suggest any of the complexes. They look very nice and lots of young professionals flock to them (there's a bit of status elevation associatedwith being there), but I've heard strange complaints (dog doo in hallways for days?).

Anyone else know about the highrises near Lake Eola?

The only thing I can really suggest is to look on craigslist. Just be careful for scammers. The house I am living in now I found on there and we just signed a lease for another year. If you are seriously looking for something within walking distance in downtown, you are a going to have a hard time finding something within your price range. I have price one bedrooms and even for a small studio rent is usually around $800-1300 depending on the highrise. I would check out the Thorton park area like Robineli but the cheapest I have seen 2 bedroom is around $1100 and that is for a duplex. Maybe try Delaney Park as well, although I do not know too much about that particular area. I was driving on Mills a few weeks ago and saw a few signs for house to rent but it was definitley not within walking distance of bars/restaurants just a lot closer to downtown than Rosen.....
