Amazing, especially considering that we all rely on AC throughout the year. My Progress Energy bill is under $200 in an 1800 sq ft 3/2 townhome, and I keep it at 72 degrees after I get home from work until I leave in the morning, so I am not complaining right now. However, a 30% increase won't fly...that is completely ridiculous. More people will just leave the state...eventually nobody will be able to afford living here.

You should give them a call. Perhaps it is because you have a home rather than a townhome, but I have about the same specs as you and spend less than half what you pay. And believe me I blast that thing while I am at home all evening and all night. During the day while at work I bump it way up to 80.
