My husband and I have finally put the house up for sale and we are currently researching areas on the outskirts of Orlando. We are relocating from Massachusetts. I would like a safer place than Orlando and with better schools. We have family in the Azalea Park area of Orlando and also in Apopka so I would like somewhere nearby. I'm not so sure about these areas, I have lived in Orlando near the airport and I didn't like the traffic. I also didn't like the increasing crime in Orlando at the time. I have been looking into Apopka, Winter Park or Altamonte Springs. Can anyone give me some insight into these towns and which one might be best? Thanks.

I think the most important question i would ask you is where will you be working. The reason being there are any number of great areas we can recommend, but if it means havving to commute for an hour in heavy traffic then it isnt going to be worth it.

I live on the border of Winter garden and Windermere and that is a great area close by Apopka and has some fantastic schools. That being said if your going to be working in East Orlando then this isnt going to be good for you as its in West Orlando.

I don't have a job yet, but I am hoping it will be at the nearest hospital as I am in the medical field. My husband will be working for his brother in Apopka. My in-laws live in Eastern Orlando and I don't want to be too far from them either. I was kind of hoping for somewhere in the middle if possible. I just wanted to know the pros and cons of the areas.

Given that you are in the medical field there are a number of medical facilities in both west Orlando and with the new large facility in East Orlando, this doesnt really shed any light in all honesty. The best piece of advice i can give you right now is is find a job first and then when you are armed with that location we will be able to assist you, because the medical profession is a large field with facilities all over the place here, and to be honest with employment not being great in this economy, you cant really afford to select a community to live in and pick and choose employment around that. In the current economic climate it has to be the other away around. Sorry i cant be more help.
