Kissimmee, Florida | Welcome (http://www.kissimmee.org/news_releases_detail.aspx?id=4790 - broken link)

Kissimmee named All-America City - Orlando Sentinel

You guys are ridiculous.

Or how about this $2 million house. Kissimmee, FL, 34747 - MLS #O4944279 - Single Family Home real estate - REALTOR.com®

I guess the Houston Astros Spring Training are afraid of all the rampant crack addicts running around too?
You do realize what the All American City Award is, don't you?

It doesn't mean it's a great place to live. In fact far from it. It means that it's a city in economic and social decay that has formed committees of citizens to develop plans to get the city back on it's feet. It doesn't even mean that it's gotten back on it's feet. Previous winners are "lovely" places like Cleveland; Cohoes, NY; Ft. Wayne; New Haven; the list goes on.

By the way, they may be asking $1.8M for that house, but it doesn't mean they'll get it. A house is worth what someone will pay for it, and frankly in that location and this market, that house is probably worth about half of the asking price. I have similar homes in my neighborhood that are selling for under $1M--and they aren't five feet from the house next door like the homes in that neighborhood are--holy smokes I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a house that I could hand a cup of sugar through my kitchen window to my neighbor reaching out of their kitchen window! The comps support my assertations, recently sold homes in that neighborhood are selling for under $1M and according to Zillow, it looks like the average home value is about $750K. Zillow isn't perfect, but it's not a million dollars off.

Please reconsider. There are so many nice places in Florida where you can play golf. We lived in Kissimmee and moved twice due to not feeling safe in our neighborhoods. We finally moved to Orlando, where, believe it or not, I feel safer.

We used to live in Kissimmee and we want to move back there, but we haven't been able to sell our home in North Carolina. Trinity Lutheran School is highly rated. It's on Route 192. We are former members of Trinity Church. Working for Disney would be a great idea! We used to be cast members and hope to be again.

Good Luck on your move!

Our old next door neighbors go to Trinity. I would definitely consider the school if we still lived in Kissimmee.

Why not stay in Kansas and move to Leawood or Overland Park in Johnson County. The Blue Valley School District is nationally recognized for their excellence. I know it is cold in kansas about 8 months out of 12 but your children should come first before a golf course unless you want Jose to become your son-in-law...
