Guys, does anyone know a cheaper source for DisneyWorld tickets, than the official website? Me and my hubby want to go there sometime around Xmas (12/20-12/30). I would appreciate you sharing your links (PM?) or other hints. Thanks a bunch!

I'll warn you, while there are a couple of legitimate places to save a few dollars on tickets, if it's too good to be true, it is. There is no way of verifying the legitimacy of tickets prior to arriving at the gate (anyone that says there is is a liar--run fast and far!), and buying counterfiet or illegally sold secondhand tickets could cost you a fortune.

Try AAA and the Mousesavers web site for legitimate discount offers. There are also discounts for certain military and DoD members (active and retired), your base MWR office can provide further info.

I basically said the same thing in a DM. I do not recommend anyone take shortcuts when it comes to theme park tickets. You will do better by finding cheaper accomodations for your stay, to compensate for ticket prices.

If you can't afford tickets, there is plenty to do @ DIsney (Downtown Dis. for example) that are free or don't cost nearly as much as park admission.

In your opinion, is it cheaper to have lodging with Disney + Disney tickets or some side lodging (BTW, do they have shuttle like Disney hotels?).

Thanks.

Disney offers both free transportation from the airport and free transportation around their property. I don't know of any other hotel that offers both free transportation to and from the airport and free transportation to the Disney Parks.

Other than the Downtown Disney hotels, overall shuttle services to the Disney parks from other hotels tends to be not very convenient--often only running a couple of times in the morning, and a couple of times in the evening.

Also, keep in mind that you are planning a trip during the businest week of the year at Disney, and you are very late in the game. You're probably going to find that many hotels are already sold out. The Disney Parks can and do reach capacity around the holidays. Generally on Christmas and New Years, by 10:00 am the Magic Kingdom is closed. Disney hotel guests can often get in until about noon, because there are two tiers to the Magic Kingdom closing, first is the parking lot is full, second is the park is full.

I would call Disney and see what type of deals/discounts they might be offering. 407-WDISNEY. Add in the cost of airport transportation and factor in either car rental or shuttle costs when comparing to off-site. Disney often comes out cheaper, and almost always comes out more hassle free.

Nothing really to add to Annerk's post except:
The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com - Powered by vBulletin

You should be able to find good tips there.

If you stay @ a hotel on route 192 in Kissimmee, you can take the Lynx 56 to the Transpotation & Ticket center @ the Magic Kingdom and save on parking. You can catch a Disney bus to anywhere else you want to go.
