Along with Lake County you may want to try the back areas of Windermere and Ocoee/Winter Garden. Even though it's close to more suburban areas you can still find rural-like areas, and even some homes with horses (this morning I passed by a stable that had a for sale sign in Windermere). Plus, the schools are good

Along with the Narcoossee Area I would also recommend Bithlo and Wedgefield in the 32820 and 32833 zips.

These areas are fairly close to the city but sitll have many rural parts as well

Look near East Colonial Drive, Chuluota Rd, and State Road 520

Its pretty nice out there

i bought 5 acres on happy trails a couple of years ago, ( very happy with it ) i have cleared the land, 2 small areas turned out to be wet, which i knew about, but i am happy with the land, the county is paving the main road ( goodman road ) in 2010, right next to championsgate, interstate 4, disney is about 15 minutes, to the gate.

we will be building a home there, but its a horse friendly community, yet surrounded by everything

ginner

I'm affraid I have to disagree with the amjority. Lake county has poorly rated schools. While the area is pretty the schools do not measure up to what others can offer. There are no A rated high schools in Lake County, and 4 at even a B level., 1 C and 2 D rated. Not what I would call outstanding. There are other areas that can offer the rrural feel but with A rated schools.. If schools are a concern, look elsewhere.
