dude its the whole reason we moved here its DEAD down there. Orlando isn't MUCH better but it is better. Ft Lauderdale killed the two biggest attractions to the city (air and sea show and spring break) so tourisem is down big time. all and all florida as a state has a horible job market and its usally 6 months to a year behind the rest of the country.

Yet FL still has a better UE rate than places like CA, MI, or NV

Orlando is actually a hotbed for a lot of IT, engineering and aeronautical and defense contracting jobs as well. Where I think Orlando is lacking jobs is certain corporate jobs, banking, accounting, etc. We have some corporation headquarters like Darden but overall there seem to be less of these positions. There are plenty of jobs outside the health care industry and I wish people would research or post with some knowledge and research sometimes ...

Source/Orlando Sentinel/ 2009....will find article, I have it on file...(not sure what it was top ten in, it may have been patients seen, but give me a day to find it)

I'm looking for article, it may be # of patients seen or something like that, but I do seem to remember the article mentioning something about cardiology. Could be number of beds or something also. Could've been a thing like UCF being third largest university in the nation, not the third best!
