I used to live there when it was an apartment complex called The Tradition. My roomate's car was stolen, and after that we started talking to our neighbors and virtually everyone in there either had their car stolen, vandalized, or knew someone who had. Right down the road as you cross John Young Pky, Conroy road turns into Americana and it gets extremely ghetto. It's a beautiful complex and very new, but sad to say, I can't recommend it.

Gatormark, have you taken a look at the Sandlake Private Residences on Turkey Lake?

This is the most conveniently located apartment complex on the west side that I have ever lived in.... It is close to everything you'll need.... I eat out alot, and all I'd have to think is.. hmm do I want Italian food tonight... or maybe Japanese... or maybe some Indian.... and I could be at any of those in just a few minutes.

It is also minutes away from Millenia/I-Drive/SeaWorld/Universal/Restaurant Row..... and has easy access to I-4/528.... Take Turkey Lake to Central Florida Parkway and get onto I-4 right there and you can be at the Disney exits in no time. The benefit of taking Turkey Lake is you bypass parts of I-4.... and coming home from Disney is even faster.

Is it a luxury gated community? No.... but there should be some good deals in there....

Sandlake Private Residence, I will check that out. We do like the area of Seasons 52 and so on. I did not know that place was. I thank you for the advice and will call them tomorrow.

FYI - The Mosaic is also the complex that Jennifer Kesse disappeared from.

Sand Lake Residences is a condo complex, if I am not mistaken, but I am sure that there are several units for rent in there. It is in a very good area...close to many things...and had a good vibe when I looked at units there.

Glad you provided that info--it sounded familiar to me but I couldn't think of why. That whole area is not one that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. I cut down Americana during the day to get from Florida Mall to Millenia, but wouldn't want to be on that road at night--just by looking at it you can see that it's one of those neighborhoods that isn't going to be safe at night.

I would look in the Lake Buena Vista, Cagan Crossing, Formosa Gardens area or the Dr Phillips/Winter Garden area, there are some nice complexes and areas in Hunters Creek and Celebration as well. There are several other nice areas but will be outside of the 20 minute timing to get to Disney.

GatorMark, would you be willing to go 30 minutes? If so, you might want to check out The Vista at Lost Lake or Sundance in Clermont. Both are very nice and in an extremely safe area and convenient to shopping, restaurants, a brand new movie theater, etc.

You should look at some zip codes to permanently remove from your search. 32839 where the Mall at Millenia is located being one of them. I would avoid 32805, 32811, 32808, 32839 in the area you are looking at with the 20 minute rule.
