Hello, the other day im driving and my battery and ebrake light come on for 5 seconds then shut off. After that my dash lights and headlights go dim, not off, but close. Then the power to my radio rapidly goes on and off. Next my tach and speedo die. Then its shifts itself down to third gear (four speed automatic transmission). 2 miles later, EVERYTHING all at once comes back to normal. Pleeease help a guy out. Thanks for reading.

Your alternator is failing. There is no other reasonable conclusion.

Everything that you mentioned--from the glowing of both the charging system light and the e-brake light, to the random failure and restoration of power to various accessories--is totally consistent with the alternator dying.

I suggest that you replace it today, as it could be totally dead by tomorrow, and if you wait another day, in addition to getting stranded and needing a tow, you will probably also wind up killing your battery.
