Forrest Gump sez:
Life is like a project....over-budget and never far from the unexpected.

Extra Credit Question:
Is your home "company ready" at this moment ? If not how long would it take to make it "company ready" ?
Yes, when can we expect you?

Bonus Question:
How many catalogs do you get at your home ?
Fewer than in the past. Could it be companies are going online and saving trees?

Or if you don't buy from them, they eventually stop sending as many.

Just for Fun:
What are your expected High & Low temps for today ?
This time of year the forecast is hot & dry, hot & dry, followed by hot & dry.

Without checking I'm gonna say high in the 90s and low of about 80. We've had some triple digit days this year so we're getting off easy today.

How many of our QOTD family are still using their A/C ?
See above and guess.

When do you think you will be able to turn it off ?
I'll tell ya, if you'll chip in.

Now you see why I'm counting down the days to autumn?

Today's Question(s):

What was the last thing you attempted to do that turned into a "project" ?

Send pictures and a video from our June visit to those who attended. Normally an easy undertaking, but with the size of the pictures I take and the "unusual" hi-res format for the video my camera uses, it turns into a major job.

Extra Credit Question:

Is your home "company ready" at this moment ? Hah! Give me half a day...

If not how long would it take to make it "company ready" ? See above

Bonus Question:

How many catalogs do you get at your home ? Maybe 3 or 4.

Which is your favorite ? None of them are mine...

Last time you ordered something from a catalog ? It's been awhile. I usually order online if I'm not buying locally.

Just for Fun:

What are your expected High & Low temps for today ? 81/65 a really cool day today. It's going to change. 90 by Friday.

How many of our QOTD family are still using their A/C ? We will continue to use it for another 1 1/2 to 2 months depending on the weather.

When do you think you will be able to turn it off ? October if we are lucky.

Babble

Tough day today. The Shingles virus is acting up again and I'm having a lot of pain in my head. This is really getting old (over a year actually). I've got an appointment with the doctor tomorrow and I'm going to pressure him for another round of Valtrex to see if it will help.

If he refuses I'm looking for a new doctor. I've had enough of this.

We are setting up a trip to Vegas for December and for the first time in probably 20 years (?) we are not flying Allegiant Airlines. The flights from here have been cut and the only available arrival time is 8:20pm. The days they fly are also fewer so it's stay 4 days (Arriving at 8:20 makes it three) or stay for a full week. I predict their sales from our city are going down the tubes.

So it looks like Delta this time. And all future times if this is the way it's going to be.

Today's Question(s):

What was the last thing you attempted to do that turned into a "project"?

Hmm, well, based on what I've unearthed in the past couple of days at work, it looks like it'll be a supplier audit. Wonderful timing.... we just wound up fiscal-year-end, so clearly I need SOMETHING else to continue to keep me at the office 10-12 hours a day.

Extra Credit Question:

Is your home "company ready" at this moment?

Ha! You really do fancy yourself a comedienne, don't you, Karla?

If not how long would it take to make it "company ready"?

Well, that depends.

If we're talking about our weekly dinner guests, heck, they could come on by right now. They've seen the place like this before.

If we're talking about my sister and her kids visiting from the other side of the state, oh, probably a couple of hours would do it. We just had a house guest stay a week in the upstairs room, so it would need clean sheets, sweeping, dusting and straightening, and I'd want to do a swing through the bathroom, kitchen and living room.

If we're talking about my boss and his wife, I'll need to take a week off to prepare!

Bonus Question:

How many catalogs do you get at your home?

You know, I don't honestly know, because my spouse is usually the first one home, and he pitches most of them in the recycle bin long before I get here. I suspect it's fewer than years back, but it's still way more than we'd prefer.

Which is your favorite?

I like LL Bean, Land's End and Coldwater Creek.

Last time you ordered something from a catalog?

I ordered a couple of pairs of khakis and some dressy blouses for my daughter, so she'd be ready for her new job. She has extremely long legs, and it's nearly impossible for her to find slacks that are long enough for her in the stores, so we nearly always wind up getting them from either LL Bean or Land's End, where the designers recognize that women can and do have 34" inseams.

Just for Fun:

What are your expected High & Low temps for today?

Heh, sorry, kinda late for that. From what I recall of the weather bit on WPR this morning, they were calling for a high of about 81 and a low in the 60s.

How many of our QOTD family are still using their A/C?

We're not this week - hooray! I'm sure we'll still have some steamy days yet this summer when we'll need to fire it back up, but hopefully there won't be too many. The window ACs have gotten more use this summer than I think they ever have as long as we've lived here (since 1999).

When do you think you will be able to turn it off?

Well, we're already turning them off occasionally, when the temp and the humidity gets to a reasonable level. We'll probably be able to take them out of the windows and store them back in the garage by about mid-September.

After the kitchen got flooded and we put in new floors everything else just had to be replaced.
It would take a few hours for the house to be company ready.

Temp got up to 95 today heat index was over 100 and is till 99 right now
I'll be using my AC for MANY more months I HATE summer!!!!

Don't let him fool you... it would take him at least 2 years to get his house ready. It took him more than a week to pack for his vacation!
