http://www.airamericaplace.com/boards/style_emoticons/default/coffee2.gif (broken link)Cell phones can be used just about anywhere people can carry them. I have found out however that there is a maker who builds a device that restricts or negates a cell phone from being called or calling out. This is another device that covers a small area with a signal to prevent cell phone usage. It’s ideal for inside a movie theater, restaurant, church etc where cell phones should be turned off but are not.
So what do you think,,,,, should these new devices be placed in locations where people fail to use personal cell phone courtesy? http://www.airamericaplace.com/boards/style_emoticons/default/shrug.gif (broken link)
I think cell phone courtesy is like the “smoking issue” some people just don’t want the problems of secondhand smoke or secondhand conversations around them. Hello,,,,hello – can you hear me now?
Well, I would agree with you except I carry my cell everywhere so that I can be reached in case of an emergency. Of course I put my phone on vibrate when I am in a meeting or other place full of people. If there is an emergency and you block my phone, it may be too late by the time I get the message (when the movie's over etc.)

Good for you! But most people don’t do that, nor do they take their conversation to a more private spot where others are out of listening range.

Three of my favorite pet peeves:
1) people who talk on their cell while someone is waiting on them.
2) people who talk on the cell while they're in the ladies' room.
3) people who give you a dirty look while they're having a "private" conversation in a public place. Like it's your fault you can hear the conversation.
Yes- I would love to be able to have a designated no-cell zone. It would include not only movie theaters and restaurants, but any cash register or customer service desk.
Yeh thats great untill youre in an area where this device is on and somebody has a heart attack and it takes a few mins to get to a phone and that person subsequently died and whoever owned the device is sued for everything theyre worth.
[rant]Im a hater of cellphones. I worked in the industry for about 4+ years and have grown to hate them more and more and more and more (well you get the point!) every day. They are annoying. I hate being contactable when in the restroom. I hate talking to somebody and they say "wait a minute" then yap on their cells for 15 minutes whilst I am standing there. I also hate it when I see people drive with cells, caused many an accident[/rant]
That's just wrong! Don't bring me into the toilet area with you! Don't talk to me while-THINGS-are happening down-in-there. That's just gross, man.
Now that should be a non-cell area for sure! Don’t even ask me to use your cell for after that.http://www.airamericaplace.com/boards/style_emoticons/default/Toilet.gif (broken link)
