Good Sunday to you, kids! If you're in the market to buy some new furniture, you may find Today's Tip rather handy.....
WHEN TO GET THE BEST DEALS ON NEW FURNITURE
Generally, Thanksgiving and Christmastime are NOT good times to purchase furniture. Furniture stores do offer nice discounts, though, on many other holidays. Good times to watch for sales include New Year's Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day and Labor Day. It depends on what you're shopping for, though. For instance, on Father's day you're much more likely to find recliners on sale than curio cabinets.
Also, right before the holidays, around October, you can often find substantial savings on dining room and living room furniture. Retailers know you will be expecting company!
FURNITURE CLEARANCE SALES
Each year, most furniture retailers will debut their new lines in August. So, if you are looking for clearance items, July is the best time to shop for living room, dining room and bedroom furniture.
This is a great tip, Pam. However, I do not presently require anything for my tipi, but I will definitely keep it in mind, unless of course my laptop counts... it just died again, after I spent about $200. fixing it. Oh well, la-de-dah, it's only money!!
My sister sells furniture, and I asked her about this sale info I found on the Internet. She said yep, it's true. She said that Presidents' Day is a biggie for them (J C Penney).
Great tips, Pam! I remember back in the day being in retail and having sales on certain items. Loved that plus getting an employee discount
