Good morning posters.

The girls are home safe and sound and it's nice we're all here for the weekend.

For some bizarre reason I suddenly remembered something that happened many years ago. My dad was a successful businessman. We'd been working at home one Saturday morning and piled some rubbish into one of the cars and took it to the dump. On the way back dad said he wanted to drop into the Jaguar dealership as he was looking to get three cars for the company for the co-directors.

Standing there in our gardening clothes we were ignored, dad got bored and we went to the pub.

So, here's the peeve-

Judging people at face value.

Same thing happened to a friend of my mom's. She was a very ugly woman, her husband was an ok looking man, but her personality shined so brightly coupled with her ability to make you laugh made you overlook her unpleasant features. Well they wanted to buy an RV to do some traveling with and had on jeans, t-shirts and sneakers. Normal wear for most of us. Well they were also ignored by the salespeople!!! Little did these salespeople know they were paying cash for their RV, they had money set aside for their retirement. They also left the dealership and went to another and bought the RV of their dreams. The only difference is they went back, asked to speak to the manager. They told the manager there story, he called two salespeople over and they got fired on the spot! They felt bad they got fired they thought they would be talked to but you see it doesn't matter how a person looks when they come into your store, you never know what's in their pocket.

That's all my peeve of the day!!!!

"You cannot judge a book by it's cover". I was in the retail business for 40 years and that was the first thing I learned.
Interestingly I still find business's still judge you. And when shopping with the wife, it's different than shopping alone.

Your dad deserved at least a courtesy acknowledgment.

This is a very good peeve, Jezer. On school days I really dress down, on work days I dress to the nines....I have noticed that I get treated very differently on the days that I work. Same thing when I tell people my Dad is Aboriginal. They look at me like I broke the mold. Truth is he was a very good businessman, and a very hard worker.
