Another great tid-bit of trivia from tijlover!!!

Didja know....................



Kuchikami no sake, or "chewed in the mouth sake",
was Japan's drink of choice in 200 B.C.E.??? To make it,
townspeople would chew rice and then spit it into a tub. Enzymes from their saliva would help kick-start
fermentation, creating alcohol.

I have seen this spitting in a barrel to ferment something somewhere! It was in Rain forest tribes maybe..... Yuk!
