Good morning posters and welcome to April.

It's busy here as we have a French Exchange visitor just arrived here for the week and she will be going to places like Oxford and London.

I could peeve about how my French isn't as good as it used to be, but let's think of something else.

We went through a period last year where we just got one thing sorted out with one of our cars when the next thing went wrong. We got so peeved with the car that it is no longer with us, but for today's peeve we'll have;

Cars going wrong.

We must condition ourselves for the bleak future.. Even automobiles will probably all be made in China..the industrial capital of the planet!

May I please include Pontoon boats in this peeve? lol...Ours came loose during the winter and floated down the lake to the other side and the battery is dead. Now I wait for an exchange of the once new battery and someone to kindly take me for a boat ride to my abandoned water craft.

I'm very happy to include pontoon boats in this thread.

Don't know why I didn't put them in in the first place!

As far as Caligula's comment, the problem these days is that cars are harder to work on and often need to be linked up to specialist diagnostic devices at main dealers or somewhere that can access the data.

So true...I miss the older, better running, and easier cars to fix yourself. Now it costs an arm and a leg to have work done because of all the diagnostics and electronics.

Very sad, cars going wrong. When we first get them they purr, if we're not careful they may start to chug.

It starts when your cars hang out with the wrong cars, trucks, motorcycles. After a while they're smoking. And they've been playing loud music on the radio all along. Then they take in stronger and stronger fluids. In addition to fuel and oil, they start to need cleaners and uncloggers. Instead of spending time parked in driveways, garages or lots, they begin to hang out with mechanics. That's the beginning of the end.

If you don't talk to your car about chugs, who will?
