Cuckoo Day :

"The cuckoo is a pretty bird; she sings as she flies;
She brings us glad tidings; she tells us no lies;
She sips all the pretty flowers to keep her voice clear;
And she never sings cuckoo till Springtime is here." (appalachian folk song)

Thank You for the QOTD

Today's Question(s):

lol Last time you wanted to say "Ok you can stop now" ?
I have a list
1. Dogs barking (we have been watching my sisters dog since Saturday so the Bark-a-thon has increased by one
2. The folks who are buying my bosses house are renting it until closing next month. Being young and very excited about their first house they had parties that were loud all weekend. I got a few calls about the noise. So I had to have a "little chat" with them.
3. The neighbor who felt the need to call me twice about the noise
4. The TV Chef I was watching last night she was making a prime rib and she kept saying "big beef" in this very weird deep monster voice. lol I actually said "ok you can stop now" to the TV
(now you know where the idea for this question came from )

Extra Credit Question:

If I was to walk past your home,would I be able to see inside ?
(in other words do you keep your blinds or curtains open or closed)

Not really unless you came up to the house and squatted down to look in the 4" of open blind. To help prevent major bark-a-thons I only leave that much of the blind up

Bonus Question:

Do you have any Matches in your home ?

Actually we don't. We do have those long lighter sticks to light candles and the grill

Just for Fun:

What was you last "It's about time" moment ?

After 3 times rescheduling the Citrus trees are finally going in the School garden today
The yard renovations are complete
lol I am still waiting to say this about rain

Today's Question(s):

lol Last time you wanted to say "Ok you can stop now" ?
A couple of weekends ago when my neighbour (next door but one) was playing some kind of heavy metal 'music' really, really loudly. He's schizophrenic and doesn't reliably take his meds, so it's not a good idea to ask him to turn it down... he can become very aggravated. In his favour, he doesn't do it often, and usually only for an hour or so.

Extra Credit Question:

If I was to walk past your home,would I be able to see inside ?
(in other words do you keep your blinds or curtains open or closed)
You can't even see my windows for all the trees, shrubs and general mayhem in the front yard. It's on the To Do list for an Extreme Makeover! After that's done, yes, you'd be able to see inside (curtains usually open at the front) - but you'd be unlikely to see me as I live almost entirely in the back part of the house.

Bonus Question:

Do you have any Matches in your home ?
Probably somewhere.I have a heap of match books collected from travels over the years, but I doubt they'd still work.

Just for Fun:

What was your last "It's about time" moment ?
I have a long distance friend who has a much better phone plan than me so he calls me rather than vice versa. He often emails to say he'll call at a certain time - but he almost never does. Usually at least 3 hours late!

Must be hump day - have a good one!

Today's Question(s):

lol Last time you wanted to say "Ok you can stop now" ?
That would have been last week. I had an eight hour flight. The cargo was flowers, which require keeping cool. We had the a/c blasting cold air the whole trip. If you want a good idea of what it was like, go down to your local 7-11 and sit inside their walk in cooler for 8 hours.

Extra Credit Question:

If I was to walk past your home,would I be able to see inside ?
(in other words do you keep your blinds or curtains open or closed)
You would have no problem seeing inside. Just remember, I have a security moose that patrols the area. Peepers will be dealt with.

Bonus Question:

Do you have any Matches in your home ?
I do.

Just for Fun:

What was you last "It's about time" moment ?
Rather than go with the "last" it's about time moment I will go with one from my college days. I was taking the train to Seattle for spring break. A friend and I decided to have dinner in the dining car. We get to the car only to find a long line of passengers waiting to get in. After about 30 minutes we are finally next in line. We could see an empty table so we asked if we could have it. We were told no because they only had 50 dinner plates and there were already 50 people eating. Finally 2 people got up and left. So we were seated (at the table that was empty all the time) and our order was taken. We both ordered steak. After 20 minutes or so the waiter stopped by and said our meal would be out soon. Another 10 minutes went by and still no dinner. The waiter once again stopped by and said our dinner should be out soon. Another 10 minutes and still no dinner. This time the waiter stopped by and said the train was passing by a cattle ranch and with any luck it would hit a cow and we would have our steaks. A few minutes later we must have hit a cow as they brought us our steaks.

What was your last "It's about time" moment ? LOL! When we FINALLY got home on Sunday night! We rode our motorcycles to southern Florida last week- left on the 8th and returned on Sunday the 17th. 3500+ miles total. We were cold, then hot, then wet (driving into the storms that ended up with all those tornadoes in Alabama) to very cold back in Iowa. I was SO relieved to pull into our driveway!

Today in History:
