Good morning posters and I hope that you are all feeling well.

I had a phone call from a friend late yesterday asking for advice about something.

I helped out, mainly by going online and checking a few places out.

In this case I didn't mind at all, but today's peeve is about this situation;

When people ask you to check out something that they could just as well check out themselves.

I am not sure if it's being lazy, sometimes it just slips your mind to do the most obvious things.

Been there, done that.

Hmm my daughter does this all the time, thinks I'm better at it and have more time, which are both true so I don't mind.

Google is great but nothing takes the place of experiencing it first hand.

I most often give people suggestions for how to solve the problem for themselves but if they really need some help, I will help them do it.

I have noticed that there is always a few people around who consistently do this..my take is that they are just too lazy to do it themselves, or think their time is more valuable. I'll offer to help...but I don't want to be a handmaiden to anyone!! If it is something that person needs to remember, then they should look it up...simply for retention's sake if nothing else. Good peeve, Jezer

I can usually find stuff faster than other people, so I check out information for people all the time....especially at work. I'm not sure I mind or don't mind....I've never thought about it.
