Woo-hoo! We're on the down side of the week, kids! Let's
move things along with Today's Tip! Scroll on down . . . . .

GOT A SMELLY SPONGE?

To disinfect a smelly sponge, wash the sponge thoroughly, then microwave it while it is wet, for a short period. When you see steam rise from the sponge, the bacteria in the sponge will be dead. Remove carefully; it will be hot! Wash the sponge thoroughly before use.

(Make sure the sponge has no metal components before you microwave it!)

Hey that is an excellent tip and with gas being so expensive I may have to tighten my belt where sponges are concerned...

My microwave already smells like a wet sponge why would I want to do this again?

Spoiler
Well it’s better then cutting some of the neighbor’s flowers at night and putting them in the microwave for 20 seconds on medium heat trying to help with the odor issue.

Great tip! Throwing them in the washer with my kitchen towels wasn't working so good. Thanks!

What about Sponge Bob. When he gets really down and dirty should we hose him off and throw him into the microwave too.

I have always soaked my in a dilute bleach solution.....but I think microwaving would work better and the sponge won't get eaten up by the bleach.
