FORT PIERCE, Fla., June 16 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said they arrested a woman accused of trying to smuggle six racks of ribs and two packs of oxtails out of a grocery store in her purse.

Fort Pierce police said a Save-A-Lot manager told them Marie Chester, 40, took the items from the meat department and moved to another aisle before transferring the goods from her cart to her purse, TCPalm.com reported Wednesday.

I live in a retirement community and the grocers here say this sort of theivery happens on a daily basis. Both men and women hiding meats and other groceries in their clothes or bags and trying to leave without paying for them.
At one store a manager stopped a man on his way outside the door with what looked like blood running down his neck. He was concerned that the man fell and hurt himself. As he approached the man his hat fell off and there were two raw steaks hidden up there.
