Good morning peevers.
Yesterday I was sorting out the house of my deceased FIL enjoying the relative peace after all the hiatus of recent days.
It wasn't to last, as someone thought it would be a great idea to come to the door and try and sell me something.
Today's peeve;
Door salespeople.

I don't answer the door for any reason unless I am expecting someone. I have a no soliciting sign up, but they still ring the doorbell and drive my dog nuts.
Several years back I answered the door because I was expecting my brother to come over. Like an idiot, I didn't look to see who it was because he said he was just a few minutes away. It ended up being someone trying to sell something, or so I thought. After I politely declined he started asking odd questions about my name and if I lived alone. I didn't answer and as I was closing the door, he put his hand up to stop it and tried to push his way in. Little did he know that I had a pitbull sitting behind the door who is very protective of me. It's funny, but my family thought it was a bad idea to adopt a pit until that happened.

That's a bit scary spinx!
We have notices here that we do not buy at the door etc and we are at the end of a lane but still we get people coming up here.

I never answer the door unless I know the person.
Usually, I just pretend I am not home.
Once in a blue moon.....I may crack the window and ask them what they want.
Can't even remember the last time I had a salesman at the door though.....it's usually just Jahovahs.....and I only get them about once a year. Don't answer the door for them either.....but they stick their little flyer through the door handle.

Door salespeople.
Good Morning, Jezer. I am one of those window peekers. I won't open the door unless I know who it is. At a time of stress, it is just more difficult to deal with those parading their wares of whateve type.

If we don't recognize them through the peephole then we just don't answer the door. Good peeve.

I am happy to say we don't get any salespeople. It's kind of hard to get in and get through all the locked gates, lol.
If they do get in...they are really trespassing and hubby might shoot first No one should be in here who we don't know
Good peeve though. In FL I am a window peaker or I pretend I'm not home if I don't know you...and sometimes even if I do know you

With so few jobs available, I figure it is someone who is at least willing to work at
whatever job they could find to support their family.
So, I do talk to them and will buy if they have a product I want.

Ah....you are so nice but please be careful. My MIL had someone pretending to be a salesman and he was really scoping out the houses in the neighborhood. They found a cut screen going onto their basement and a neighbor got robbed the same day.
