have you tried to quit using facebook and failed? (free, phone, messages)

Most of my friends and family contact me thru facebook. They really do not contact me often. I would rather talk on the phone or in person but everybody acts like they are too "busy". People tend to post alot of negative statuses and drama on facebook and it stresses me out. I deal with enough foolishness like that at work. I tried to stop getting on facebook cold turkey but it doesn't work especially since I have a smartphone and can easily look at facebook anywhere and update my status. Have you had a hard time quitting facebook? Sometimes I have fun with it but most times there's too much negative not to mention people rarely answer messages.

Why don't you just have your friends and family on MSN messenger or one the other instant messengers. Can't you access that just as easily as facebook? If friends and family don't contact you often why bother updating your status. I hate those social sites like FB, twitter and others. I do agree things can become a habit, even C/D.

Some of my friends have my yahoo messenger but i rarely get on that and every time i give someone my yahoo they never use it. I usually use status updates to tell people random stuff on my mind
I only use my facebook account to get free stuff. I don't have any family or friends on there.
Anything can become enjoyable part of your life. As long as it makes you happy,
why quit?
