I'm not at home but am staying in what looks like an old castle, though it is only around 150 years old. We have this timeshare this time every year as it was somewhere we could stay in the UK at Christmas when we lived abroad.
I slept pretty well but when you are in a strange place that is not always the case, especially if there are possibly other people in rooms above and below you and things like the shower works in a weird way etc etc.
I used to stay away so much in the old days and could write a book on things that happened, but for today's peeve let's have this;
Hate it. Love my own bed, except on vacation, I usually do fine. I sleep/work weekends and use this old rickety bed that hurts my back, the couch would be worse.
The strangest place I stay in are Las Vegas casinos. When we first arrive, our sleep pattern
is odd. We always end up wide awake early in the morning. We'll get in the lift at 6am to
go for breakfast. The doors open and there are all these people sat at slot machines. I
always wonder have they been playing all night, or are they just having an early start!!!
Strange places can be a peeve, but not knowong one day to the next where you'll be staying overnight is even scarier. Im talking about when i was doing long haul trucking. One day you can be in Waco Tx then the next you have to be in Springfield, Mo....so where will you stay between point A and point B....
Good one!
I don't like strange places cause I'm always worried about running into things. I like my home cause I know where everything is and I can move about freely (as long as no one moves anything around).
