Good morning peevers.
It's set to be another glorious day with wall to wall sunshine and temperatures far above the seasonal norm. Don't believe what they tell you about the UK- it doesn't always rain!
Actually we are in the midst of a drought in large parts of England. This winter has been very dry over much of England. The east is particularly badly hit and crop farmers are having a bad time of it.
I wondered about having a peeve centred around this.
I'm sure our fellow peevers in places like Arizona are familiar with having to be careful about natural resources like water, so how about this for the POTD;
People being wasteful with natural resources.

I thought in England it was foggy all the time. Or is it just London...
People being wasteful with natural resources.
So true, and yes we in Arizona are encouraged to watch our wastefulness. Though many people don't care and waste a lot of water.

No Nitram, we don't have fog in England all the time. It's quite rare. Used to get it a lot when I was a kid before coal fires were banned. As for wasting natural resouces, the biggest of all must be oil. When we finally manage to use it all up, and future generations study how so much was wasted they will curse us.

Oh I hate that! My biggest thing is where people let the hoses run while washing their cars. Get one of those hose spray gun things, where you spray what you need then when you put it down, water isnt running. Good one! Same with showers, do people really need to let it run for 5 minutes before geting in? Do everything you have to do before (or just before) turning the water on. Getting undressed, get the shampoos and conditioners out of the cabinets (for those who dont keep things in the shower), get your towels already...

Well, I do have to say that in Texas for the last 2 years we have not been wasteful when it comes to water. We've been in a horrible drought. Wildlife is dying, wildfires have burned much of the state and the shrubs in my back yard died.
We are still under stage 3 watering restrictions but since mid January those of us in north central Texas have had more rain than usual. The lakes are actually full for the first time in 2 years.
Water is precious. I'm actually glad we still have restrictions on watering.

I know about Texas ket, I can't imagine.
We are fortunate not to have to water lawns, we get plenty of showers in the summer to keep everything healthy, most of the time.

Here, in Las Vegas, the big casino's seem to be forever remodeling their rooms, throw out the old, bring in the new!
Ever stop to think of all the waste, where it ends up, resulting from MGM's recently remodeling of their 5,000 room hotel on the Strip?
What bothers me the most is that which can't be recycled, like re-carpeting all the rooms!
What a shame for the environment!

People being wasteful with natural resources.
They tore down a very nice 4 year old office complex to make room for a CVS...........what a waste.

Yeah it's a crying shame that our natural resources are being wasted and used up, pretty soon they will be "unnatural" resources.

Good thing we have trees to replenish the oxygen we breathe.
