Hi I am starting the brain storming process on what to wear on halloween.
I am looking for original home made costumes not store bought.
Only thing store bought may be the accessories or add ons.
Any ideas are welcome
maybe something mocking todays headlines or hollywood blunders?
something creative like being a kleenex box etc.

God bless you...
tissue? I hardly know you,
Sorry Sunny, but had to, I am so silly this eve. And someone calls me a Debbie Downer,
back on topic,
Years ago my friend made a homemade costume as gumby. It was 7 feet high tho and that was a problem trying to get thru the doorways etc. But!! it was really cool, And he won loads of monetary prizes for that one. I am not sure the youth of today knows gumby anymore, do they?

I had a very pregnant friend who wore a trash bag that said "I'm Hefty"
Her husband wore one that said "And I'm Glad"
Pretty creative, I thought!

My costume has been in progress since March. My husband & I are going as a Southern Belle and a Confederate Soldier.
In the past we have been Dorothy & the Tin Man, caveman & cavewoman, Peter Pan & Tinkerbelle, Pochahantas & Tonto, and the serving wench & the knight's squire. I have a closet full homemade costumes.
If you don't sew the best costume I ever saw was a woman who went to Goodwill & found a pink prom dress. She attached several dozen rubber shrimp (fishing lures) to the dress. She went as "Shrimp on the Barbie".

There are a lot of original ideas out there, I liked the trash bag idea.
We're doing a gig on that weekend, for a Halloween party but since it falls during the week, I might just dress as an electrician, lol.
Actually there are a lot of cool ideas that can be home made, with a little imagination using make up waterpaint. Ive done it with my kids when we were 'low-budget'.

Oh that is funny. LOL!!!
Love the "hefty" and "glad" ones. LOL!!!
This is one I saw on a little girl years ago but thought it was just too cute. I guess an adult could do it too. She was a tube of toothpaste. The mom got a white pillowcase and cut a hole in the top for her head to stick thru (guess for an adult you could get one pillowcase and sew extra fabric onto the bottom of it or open up the end on one pillowcase and sew it to the bottom of the other???). Then on her head she had a pleated lampshade for the cap. She had gotten some red and blue felt and made the letters for "Crest" and sewed them on the front going sideways.
