Would like to wish the best to every soon to be Father, already Fathers, Grandfathers and Great Grandfathers (like myself).

Never hear from my two boys (Grandfathers) while a couple yrs back a stranger on CD who had recently lost his dad sent me his regards (very warming).

Reflect back and make that phone call.......can do WONDERS.

I have one older male relative left alive--my 95 year old uncle, the only one from my parents' generation. I hear from him every few days via email. He forwards silly stuff mostly but every once in a while he will send out an email of a special memory of his from his childhood.

My father passed away in 1972. So here's a bouquet just for you and all fathers who may be neglected this Father's Day.

Not for me. My father was a drunken, violent bastard and I haven't spoken to him in 32 years, nor do I intend to speak to him. I envy you folks who had loving, wonderful fathers, who disciplined you in a proper manner. Mine punched me in the mouth with his fists from the time I was 7 until I left home.

I know forgiveness would help me, but I can't bring myself to forgive him OR my mother, who enabled and took part in the beatings herself.

Just a typical American family.

Steve, I've seen only three of your posts and you are an amazing and caring individual. You are someone I would enjoy meeting at Starbucks for a favorite mocha and chat! But unfortunately, I'm in Tampa, Florida and you're in Mexico.

I sincerely hope you hear from your sons and grandsons and have a very Happy Father's Day!

I recall that your favorite flower is the red rose.

Cyber hugs and best wishes from me to you.

I'm sorry you went through that. True the other side of the coin is the grown children of abusive parents for whom these kinds of holidays can be a painful reminder. But thankfully your family was not typical. Most fathers do the right thing and wouldn't dream of abusing anyone.

Thanks for the thread Steve.

I know my life would be much less, if my dad hadn't been a part of our family's life.
