We're due for some very nasty weather today. It's become so unsettled of late.
Now then, Mrs J is like Mary Poppins- practically perfect in every way. (By the way, she is the one who wrote that signature above on the day I left her to do the POTD! )
So, having established Mrs J's credentials, why can't she switch off electrical and other equipment off properly? I just went to the washing machine and it was like that. Switch on the engine of her car and on comes headlights/radio/windscreen wipers.
Spouse has that habit of not turning off the lights when leaving a room for good. Says it's my job to follow her around and make sure everything is copisthetic...
I was on vacation - I'm selling my house you see. So, I have realtors coming in and they left my damned lights on... So, Yes, switching things off its a big pet peeve on mine!
I brought my elderly MIL home from an appointment to find that she had left a stove burner on. Thank goodness we were not gone long or there could have been a fire. Now I always check her stove before we leave the house.
My kids when they were little use to have a habit of never turning lights off and would make faces when they would hear me say "TURN OFF THE LIGHTS...WE ARE NOT CON EDISON!
I don't think my husband knows there is an "off" button for the television He will be outside working, I come down to the house, and lo and behold the tv is on. The dog must be watching
Good peeve, Jez. I'm good about turning things off when I'm not using them. I even turn lights off at the office when I see that people aren't using them.
When I'm not using my PC at home, it is shut down and the power is off. It's nuts to let it - and monitor and printer on standby - suck up electricity if it's not going to be used for hours.

I think every computer and TV stays on in our house most of the time.....even when people are sleeping. I'm just tired of fussing about it, so I no longer say anything to the kids.
I don't know whats with my Mr. anymore and not turning a light off when he leaves a room.
