Good morning peevers.

I'm heading out for a short vacation which I'll tell you about on my return.

Meantime there is the age old problem, more so for the girls, of trying to pack everything they want.

So my dear peevers, the POTD is;

Trying to squeeze a quart into a pint pot.

Over to you AksarbeN!

We haven't had that problem since the kids grew up and moved away.

This was a battle packing before my week-long trip to Toronto ... I stuffed my suitcase to the max (at least I actually used most of the items this time ) so I wound up buying another suitcase to pack all of the clothing that I purchased there Oh well ... I did not expect to buy so many clothes ... It was a battle packing before I left but me and my stuff made it home safely

Yep! The real trick is keeping pint pot contents from oozing out especially when packing everything into one suitcase. I put the liquid stuff into zip lock plastic bags and those baggies into a thick water proof travel bag. Then that bag is positioned in the suitcase with lots of padding to protect as much as possible as suitcases are tossed around with other suitcases piled on top. It always helps to put the quart of shampoo into a small container!

Yep, it's tough for us girls to pack everything we think we might need.....I always tend to overpack. When I went on vacation last month I packed a ton of stuff and didn't even use over half of it. Oh well, at least I had it if I needed it!

Can I give you the studedude packing philosophy? Unless you are traveling to a place where you are completely out of touch with civilization you can buy anything you need there. With today's airport security the closer you come to traveling nude the easier it is. I throw a couple pair of underwear and socks, a shirt, a pair of pants, travel size toiletries and meds in a carry on bag. It's fun shopping in other places so I buy what I need there and ship it to my house before I go home.

I've gotten packing down to a science lol I went from severely over packing for vacations/business trips to being able to pack a week's worth of clothes in a good sized backpack.

^^ I can do this too. If I need something at my destination, I just buy it. If I need to ship stuff home I get a cheapie styrofoam ice chest and a small roll of duct tape and send it as luggage.
