What foods did you not grow up with that you have to make up lost time for? Growing up with older brothers I had to throw down to get my fair share of pizza. I think I've caught up.

My mother wasn't much of a cook, so I grew up with Bird's Eye Frozen chicken pie (which I loved). But they changed the recipe, and it wasn't the same - so I haven't had it since.

Fresh seafood.

What foods did you not grow up with that you have to make up lost time for? More veggies. I never had asparagus, for example, as a child.

Today's Question(s): What foods did you grow up with that you haven't eaten since you left home? My Mom was Italian so lot's of her Italian recipes that I never learned. Chicken cacciatore, her pea and egg soup, but mainly her marinara sauce.
