Wow, I did know guys were so sensitive... well in this mixed up world what can you expect... But "honey" is not a professional term and just because your a chick don't mean you shouldn't adhere to what is appropriate. However you don't deserve to be smacked for it... I never call a dude honey unless I mean it
I hate when people who aren't my girlfriend or grandmother call me "honey". I can totally relate to his logic, but of course it doesn't justify punching her--though I am a bit puzzled why she didn't listen to him the first time and continued to call him "honey". Not saying that justifies the punch, but if he asked her to stop calling him "honey", she should have respected his wishes.
Even in a customer service situation? With people you know, that's one thing, but as a server/cashier/clerk? And after someone has told you not to?
No. The clerk didn't do anything that was so egregious. If this is all it takes to set this guy off, I hope to God above he's not driving or in any kind of stressful situation. A mature man would have simply not gone to this particular store any more - that's it. You cannot participate in today's world being that thin-skinned. I'm guessing he was high or drunk to have reacted so violently.
I've been called "Babe" a few times, I didn't mind!
And no, I don't resemble a Piglet.
