Getting there and finding that the shop is shut.
Good peeve, Jezer.
Two times in the past few months, a friend and I made a special trip to visit a small museum in my town. Both times we went during the posted hours of operation and both times it was closed, with no note on the door with an explanation. I believe the museum's curators are volunteers, but that does not excuse posting certain hours of operation and then not being open during those times.

Getting there and finding that the shop is shut.
I got lucky when I wanted deer repellent. The garden center had closed a half hour early, but a workman saw me as he was leaving, and alerted the owner who was upstairs.
That happened to us recently. A friend told us about an antique shop in another town that might have what we were looking for. The store was located about 30 miles away. When we arrived the sign on the door said "open only on the first weekend of each month". Missed it by 3 days.
Timely peeve.
In the closest town to me, (living in the middle of Nowhere) they close everything early, most aren't open on Sundays, and they roll up the sidewalks at 8 p.m. ! (heavy sigh) It takes a while to get to a bigger town, and Macon is the closest city. So when I go shopping, it's always a big deal. I always travel with 2 large coolers in the back of the truck and ice them down when I get to the grocery stores. There just isn't any other way. But still, I shouldn't complain because I'm the one who wanted to be waaaaay out in the country.
There's an architectural salvage place in Chicago that's amazing and run by an older woman. She is hit or miss as to whether she will be open. We have to drive through some sketchy neighborhoods to visit her place, and most of the time it's closed. We are looking for some oak pillars for the boxes we bought to put between our living room and dining room. We have the original pillars but they are badly damaged from the garage fire the previous owners had. It makes me sad that they took such an important architectural element out of the house. Why? If you want to modernize than go live in a new house and stop destroying a piece of history that should be preserved for future generations to enjoy!!!!!

Happened to me this morning only it wasn't a shop it was the police station, the office isn't open on Fridays due to budget cuts. Ya can never find a cop when you need one.

That must be what they call a "Cop Out" ...
