This dog carried her 10-day-old puppies out of a burning home and brought them to this fire truck.
Animals are far more then we think. Self awareness is not just a human trait. Nor is compassion love and humor.
Mother's love, the one and only and the best.

Wonderful story,,,,, great pictures, I'm glad someone thought about taking them at the time of the fire.
We never give our first responders enough credit for what they do each day, it's heartwarming to think that a dog would know to go to them. Maybe some of our cities across the country need to keep rethink employee reduced pay and benefits.

Here's a followup on the mother cat that pulled her five kittens from a burning building a few years ago. Looks like someone wrote a book about her!
Scarlet the wonder cat, mother cat saves kittens from fire
Edit: Looking for an update on the cat. That fire and rescue was 1996 and here it says she passed away in 2008. There's a pic of her that shows how pretty she was after recovering from the fire.

My Howie has a girlfriend. She's a Beagle named Roxie that lives across the ally. If she hears our voices she cries and carries on until we bring Howie to see her. She loves coming over and spending time in our house. I really think they love each other.
