You're spot on with this peeve. We've been involved in genealogy for years and constantly are comming across old photos that have no information about them. Dates and names would've been so helpful. Hope people today are putting information with their pictures so future generations can identify and enjoy them.

I was so proud of myself for putting all the photos, and I mean ALL the photos I had into albums.
Most of them fit into those small picture albums. Now I realize few have any names or dates on
the back. Grrr....

I read a letter in a Dear Abby column many decades ago written by an elderly woman who lamented she had not written on the backs of photographs who was in it and where and when it was taken because as she sifted through her old photos, she had no idea who the people were. Although I remember this advice I am sadly remiss in doing this consistently with my own photos.
