If there's a ding or knock at the door and I haven't invited anyone over and if it isn't the postal courier or UPS or FedEx, I don't respond. So far no one has become insistent and if they do, I can always show them a gun in hand through the tall skinny window next to the door.
I wouldn't do that unless I had to.
My cell phone is just for emergency use when away from the house. It gets regular calls that don't belong to me and I ignore them all. A regular call on the cell is Walgreens advising the prescription is ready. Not mine! There have been a few texts on the cell about winning a $1,000 card from Target. That's a scam! I installed a house phone because the cell won't function inside the house. But only two friends and my bank have that number.
I have my choices for donations and neither choice finds it necessary to call me, email me or send letters.
