Looks like we are set for a good weekend which is just as well as family are due down here tomorrow.
Yesterday evening I noticed that there was a showing in the local theatre of 'Tomfoolery'- a rendition of songs of Tom Lehrer. (Anyone remember him?)
I got quite excited and went online to check it out and order some tickets. Alas this was to no avail. It didn't hit me at first, but on the webpage it did say 'Sold Out'.
So, how about you, my fellow peevers? Ever got all excited about the thought of going to see something only to find out that it is sold out, or maybe cancelled?
Happened many times over the years. There was a concert that I was so excited about that ended up being cancelled at the last minute. Had to wait another year before I got to see the person in concert.
Seems that whenever there's a sale it can be a hot item that people want and the supplies are low. I got upset yesterday afternoon at the grocery store (Safeway) where they have a sale on buns (buy one get one free) well that's nice however they placed signs all over the place under OTHER BREAD items which said the same thing. It gave the impression that OTHER BREAD items were buy one get one free. However other breads were not on sale.
Yes, that can be pretty darned frustrating, Jezer. Good peeve!

That happens to me at restaurants all the time. We'll go to a specific restaurant for something I have a taste for and just wait for the waitress to come back and ask me to make another selection. John calls it "The spirit that denies."
That happens once in awhile when we eat out or grocery shopping. They are out of the 'specials' or the particular item you came there for in the first place. Good peeve.
We went to a Bob Dylan concert last week and did something we have never done before. We walked out. We did not expect to hear him singing the same songs we grew up hearing, but we did expect to hear him sing. Instead we listened to the worst "music" ever. I don't know where they got their sound man, but he should be fired. An example: When Dylan played his harmonica the speakers actually whistled. After the first song the next three were the same music, over and over. That's when we left.

I call it, "We're going to a different restaurant. Goodbye."
