Is it just me or do others here find the US accents and accents in Canada and UK disappearing and getting more of a Hollywood , New York and Chicago accent .

These places should have accents but they do not.

They have what called more a new accents of late 90's like the Hollywood ,New York and Chicago accents .

Iowa Accent Talk - YouTube

Texas New Accent Video - YouTube

Accent Tag - Mississippi - YouTube

Gravely Voice Time - YouTube

The first two very easy to understand The one with guy talks too slow some times. The last one talks to soft.

New accents of late 90's .

The first two better accents easy to understand.

That Iowa accent video makes me want to jump off my balcony.

I do think that the US is definitely getting less and less accents, but that's kinda expected with everyone going to college, watching the same TV channels, traveling more, and learning more than they did previously.

When did I say the US is getting accents never seen before? I'm saying people are mainly speaking with the same accent due to all the popular media influences and all that.

The girl in the Iowa accent video takes 4 decades to speak. It's annoying.

Mod cut: Snip.

And that is not an Iowa accent. I don't know what part of Iowa she's from, but it's certainly not around here. Around here she'd have a better eduction and wouldn't say "A Iowa accent".
