Silly or stupid excuses, you’ve heard, or given.

Here’s one to start with; A few days ago, my Wife, Daughter, and I were watching a film, a musical bit was coming up, my Wife says to me “Play Air Guitar to this”. My answer to that was “I can’t play that well". Wife “Oh go on”. Me “I haven’t cut my nails”.

Maybe I'm a bit too serious!

That's funny, Bec! She laughed, I'll bet. Cutting nails before playing guitar was mentioned in another post. I can see why that's important. Thinking about that for air guitar is a good laugh!

In my younger years, there was always a guy playing air guitar. Sometimes it was so enthusiastic we had to get out of the way of flailing arms!

Well, I don't know if this applies, but when my daughter Belle was little and would get herself into trouble, she always had the strangest answers!

For example:
Me : "Belle, why did you color on the wall?"
Belle: " Because I colored on the wall."
Me: "Belle honey, what were you thinking of when you colored on the wall?"
Belle : "Because I was thinking I would color on the wall."

Kids! Sometime they just make you wonder.... and then you just have to laugh!

A co-worker told me last night that she had done something stupid because it seemed to be the thing to do at the time. I'm still trying to figure that one out!

Maybe it just didn't seem stupid at that particular moment.

That sounds like engaging in sex with a date and wishing it hadn't happened.

I've never been one for flailing arms, I'm far too reserved for that, but I've cut my nails now.

This is probably a version of the excuse a man gave the judge when he was arrested for taking his clothes off and jumping into a cactus bush. "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

My favorite excuse for not wanting to talk to a sales person who I did ask to call or knock on my door. "I can't talk to you now the people next door are going swimming tomorrow". I don't care how many answers they have to objections that one stops them. After a moment of silence I get something like "what does that have to do with---------?" "If I don't want to talk to you any excuse will do."
