Can somebody please tell this country girl, which now lives in a city, why does train whistles sound like a child hammering on the wrong keys of a piped organ? Where did that lonesome whistle go?

I love the sound of train horns and the city is making ordinances against there use in certain areas. Here's some that Amtrak uses..

That's a great sound Tin Man! I used to look these youtubes up to see and here these old trains. I'm sure I recall that horn from steam engines in the 50's. I think it was the last years for them.

The best steam horns / whistles are from England / Scotland as they echo through the fog laden glen..

Now see those are either whistles or horns the ones here sound like bad organ keys in short and long versions. Doesn't sound like a whistle at all but it is annoying.
