1) your dh is threatening to send you to a 12-step program

2) you consistently refer to your husband as your "dh"

3) you keep computer up and running so it doesn't take so long to see if there's been any new posts made.

4) you interrupt "real life" conversations with friends and tell them they're "off-thread!"

5) You wish you could interject little emoticons into real life conversrations!

6) You refer to a conversation as "a thread."

7) You take your laptop on vacation with you so you can check in regularly
with CD.

8) Your "screen name" seems as real to you as your "real life" name.

9) Your internet connection goes down temporaily and you start to
hyperventilate.

10) Your internet connection goes down for over an hour and you call 911!

11) You "attend" several imaginary "parties" a week, even hosting some yourself!

12) You go to "jail" or "lockdown" 2-3 times a week "for being too nice to too many people!"

I think this thread has been done before but I thought I'd add my own version of addiction!

I'm guilty of quite a few of those items and I'd like to add to the list:

13) You miss your CD friends and worry about them when you don't see them
for a while.

14) You dream about hosting a real party just for your CD friends.

15) You want to move so you can hang out with your CD friends.

16) You'd rather be on CD than eat, sleep, etc.

17) You keep a list of people you need to rep.

18) You get really bummed when you can't rep.

19) You try to help nice people get their gold brick.

20) The parties people throw for you on CD are nicer and more heartfelt
than parties you've attended in real life.

autumngal, I can relate.
WTF, OMG, LOL, and DH are definitely part of my life now.

Or you read something interesting in the newspaper or someplace, and you want to give the person rep points!

This is priceless, Kaykay and Oh, so true. I have to carefully guard against actually saying "lol" for some reason; today it nearly slipped out during a phone conversation. Yikes. And my slightly-older word processor doesn't have smileys: what to do?

And if I were cutting back or tapering off as I'd promised myself to do, I would not be writing this...

The other day my husband and I were joking around and I told him his comment was not going to get him rep points and I was going to give him an infraction

I just call you my new retirement friends. So you won't worry, I have to get some housework done; so I hope to not be on here as much from now until Thanksgiving. But I will miss you and may check in after hours. But then there are no after hours. I guess I should just admit that I am addicted.

I've been on CD for almost 2 months and I think I have to say yes to atleast half if not more than half of both lists!!

I had to go to the grocery store and tried to decide when to go that wouldn't interfere with prime CD time
