How many of you have a cell phone and DO NOT use it for talking on the phone? And how many of you use your cell phone to just text message one another? And what about those of you who use the cell phone for both texting and calling?

I myself miss talking on the phone, I still do on and off but a lot of the time it's texting. Why don't people like talking on the phone anymore? I only see a handful of people talking on their cell phones or house phones if any of those are still around haha.

Rather than fry my brain on a cellphone I do use a house phone.

I dislike texting, but I guess that's an age thing.

Don't have a cell phone, have never used one (nor have I ever texted).
Just have a landline, though I admit I dislike talking on the phone.

The phone (as a technology) is a hassle, always startles me (when it rings), because it's interruptive,
but I appreciate it for getting quick answers for utilitarian purposes.
And I do end up using the telephone, whether I like it or not,
because it's how I keep in contact with friends/family who are not always on FB or wherever.

Sadly, we just did away with our land line after all these years. I already miss it's dependability.

I still have land line, but use it mostly for overseas calls.
I also have cell phone - call more than text, but my average usage is around 70-90 min/month.
I don't like to hang on the phone just for gossip. My calls are usually no longer than a minute or two - I do chat much more on the net.
My phone has an awesome camera and I use it a lot for just that purpose. Other than that, I do surf the web ( check prices/compare products ), check on weather, use maps, read news, write notes to myself , use for parking etc.

We use our cell phones that are in our autos for emergency calls only. No texting or anything. We don't need it nor want it for any other use. All our friends have landlines and we all enjoy talking over them.

I quickly discovered the importance of a land line. Making calls to the T/W cable service and cell providers and others can get real $$$. Calling one of these outfits and going through their routine...press 2 for this press 4 for that. I've spent approximately an hour on the phone (cell) just working towards getting a damn human on the other end! Then they don't speak your language or you can't understand them. I'm sick of the over-tech crap!
