I live in an area where cotton was once the cash crop (now, corn and soybeans have taken over). I have seen many cotton fields, cropdusters spraying chemicals over them, and cotton pickers (the mechanical kind) working in the fields. How about you?
Yes, in southern TN, just north of Huntsville, AL. Visited there for a pumpkin patch thing in the fall. Saw those big John Deere machines picking cotton.
Plenty of them in the AR delta. And many of the trailers hauling the cotton down the roads. Cotton was a big cash crop in the late 70's early 80's because of the lack of need for manual labor. I don't know what is grown there today. Rice may have taken over.
I live in The Cotton Belt so I see more than my fair share of cotton fields. I really don't like living near cotton fields because I don't care for the odor of the defoliant they spray on the crop at the end of the season.
Cotton is one of AZ cash crops. Seem them all the time.
