Hello, kids! Scroll on down and check out Today's Tip.

POP CANS (AKA SODA CANS)

It's "pop" in my neck of the woods (near Chicago), but I know most of you
call it "soda." Whatever you call it, don't you find it annoying when you put
a straw in a can of pop and it floats up and falls out of the can? Well, there's
an easy way to avoid this little annoyance.

When you pop open the tab on a can of pop, don't break the tab all the way
off. Simply turn it around so that the hole in the tab lines up with the hole
in the top of the can. Then stick the straw through the tab into the can. The
tab will hold the straw in place and you can sip away without the straw popping
out.

In my neck of the woods we call everything a coke even if it is a Dr. Pepper.

I love this tip, Pam. There are so many helpful ideas out there that we don't know about. Thanks for bringing so many of them to light.

Haha at the video, bjh. But would anyone really go to that much trouble for a can of beer?

Thanks for the thumbs-up, Ketabcha.

Back during my college days I had an afternoon econ class in a building without a/c. It would get hot in the classroom. Being the beer drinking college that it was, all of the stores sold foam sleeves designed to keep soda cans cold, which happen to also work real well on beer cans. I almost always had a cold beer or two during that class.

So, let me get this straight: First you disguise your beer as soda, then you drink it with a straw so no one will ever guess what's really in the can. Got it. Thanks, Pam!

Well, just so long as you got it. (Pass me another beer, please.)
