A blind woman is facing eviction from her northwest Indiana home of 55 years after the land it sits on was bought at a tax sale for $43 without her knowledge.

sounds like a real conundrum to me. technically she owns the house, and someone else owns the land, but she has been on the land for 55 years now, i would bet that there is something in indiana law that would allow her to stay right where she is, and perhaps even force the town to repay the money she paid them under false pretenses.

Sounds like a legal mess. Paying rent to the town who didn't own the land but cashed the checks and never said a word to her for years. And then the church who didn't pay the property taxes for years knowing she was living there and never asking where's the rent money.
