Morning y’all
. . . . . Didja Know?
If you’re looking for some unique stocking stuffers this year how about some bacon candy canes
If you stop by Aunt Hatties Fanciful Emporium in LeClaire you can pick up some of the tasty treats,
along with an array of bacon items.

“You wouldn’t believe how many people buy bacon,” said the store owner. “I can’t even tell you how
many bacon bandages I sell, how many bacon mints I sell every day. Now we can have bacon for
Christmas.”

I didn't know about the candy canes, Joy, but I'm not surprised. Bacon combined with sweet treats is becoming very popular. I've had chocolate-covered bacon at a ritzy chocolatier and it was delicious. Just last night I saw a feature on TV about a Chicago bakery that makes long-johns with caramel frosting and covered with freshly-cooked bacon pieces. The people in the show were raving about them. I'd try it in a heartbeat.

I love bacon!

Salty and sweet tastes have been a favorite of many people for many decades, if not longer. For example, salted peanuts on an ice cream sundae.

I truly love bacon but I'll pass on bacon candy canes.

Last night on The Talking Dead, a talk show after each episode of The Walking Dead, they showed how they use uncooked bacon when human "insides" are needed for the gore.

I've had bacon bits on home made cup cakes with a maple frosting. They were actually pretty good, but candy canes?

What next, egg canes, hash brown canes, maybe some BLT canes...

I like my bacon just in the strips it comes in and cooked in the fryer.
