We have plenty of them around here! (And people who think they can run them, and then get a pleasant surprise in the mail 2 weeks later in the form of a ticket from one of the bazillion red light cameras in the area!)
People that ignore them really chap my you know what. I hate the idea of the ticket cameras though. We have some in the area but not sure if in the actual city itself. We have side mounted cameras on school buses now. All seem like great ideas but are not a good alternative to actual traffic control by the police. Our police force seems invisible when it comes to traffic law enforcement.

Agreed! Baltimore, DC, and the surrounding area are loaded with cameras of all types. DC alone has dozens of cameras, and there's really no evidence to suggest they're doing anything.
In Dallas, yellow is seen as only a warning to speed up, while red is all too often only seen as a suggestion, and green means you'd better wait until 3-4 more cars go through the intersection before proceeding!
.
One reason for me leaving Florida.. The stop lights are just some dumb thing hanging over the street.. no one cared blow through it.. Big Deal... was the attitude another ticket if I get caught.. then I can post the ticket on my Twitter page and brag how rad it was to blow a light.. ho hum the attitude in Orlando that's the youth..
Now here in Tennessee unless you go into town not many traffic lights.. And people respect the lights at least in this portion of Tennessee..

Even the newer, heavily increased fines seem to have no effect.

Lawless is correct for Florida and the majority of the younger drivers.. Every one thinks it's a video game..
