After reading on the Valentine's thread, it came to my attention that many of us married people have started to date again. And we have all chosen Friday Night as our Date Night.

I know I implimented it back into our marriage about a year ago and have been enjoying it tremendously. My dh was not too keen on it at first, he hates to eat out, but now he is even looking forward to it. We have reconnected again, and talk about everything under the sun, sometimes work, sometimes kids, sometimes silly stuff, but I have noticed that he has loosened up quite a bit lately and people have really noticed, I attribute it to our date nights.

So, how many you you married people go on dates and what nights do you go on? I can't wait to see some of the replies..make me proud people!

Yep, every Friday! It's her end of the week as well as mine. And we need a break between two more-than-full time jobs and the "catch-up" chores we do on the weekend...

It's very, very rare we go out. Since my hubster works second shift we have a morning date and go out for coffee or breakfast.

We are just ending the honeymoon phase so not yet. But we do have our bonding moments in the evening when we return from work, sit down and eat..then play online games together.

I think both my husband and I would chafe at any attempt to do date nights quite that frequently, but I think it's a wonderful idea for people who are comfortable with it. I can see how it could get hubby to talk a bit more.

I know that when our kids were little, I went to *great efforts* to find good, reliable babysitters. But usually not for Friday night. Back then, we were so tired on Fridays that we usually went out for Mexican food as a family.

These days, we are enjoying the spontaneity of being empty nesters.
We're still both tired on Fridays, but at least we can go out to dinner whenever we feel like it.

we don't have a set "night".

We try to do things spontaneously now that the kid is old enough to be home by himself for awhile.

Sometimes we run into town for an ice cream or get up at 3 a.m. for coffee & pie at Denny's. We will call if having a bad day (or an exceptional one) and meet for lunch.

17 years (in June) and STILL in the "Honeymoon" stage.

I'm an 18 year honeymooner...The only full day we both have off together is Sunday, so that's our "date day."

My hubby retired for health reasons and I am now back to full time as a Realtor. Our 'dates' seem like they occur anytime we happen to meet in the same room anymore I am gone on different days of the week and at different hours. So can't really plan a date. It's has become more like, 'hey, let's go to the movies tonight'. Which is a 65 mile round trip drive. Live in the wilderness!

Summertimes are a little different sometimes. Might just hop in the car and go for a drive and stop at a mom 'n' pop type restaurant and just relax. Do a lot of talking while in the car. It can be pretty nice at times. So, no, no special dates. More spontaneous. We have been empty-nesters for many years. Married for over 45 years.

LOL...clarity -- hubby and I are about to celebrate our first wedding anniversary...I am sure everything will still feel like a honeymoon but we were literally "honeymooners".

We go out about once a month for a "date". Otherwise, once the kids are asleep, it's us, a baby monitor, the XBOX360 and a few drinks.
